In February 2025, GER-SL launched a Poultry Farm Distribution program in Van ela Kinniya to support low-income families by providing them with the necessary resources to establish small-scale poultry farms. This initiative aimed to enhance food security, create income-generating opportunities, and promote sustainable livelihoods among vulnerable households.
Many families in Kinniya struggle with limited financial opportunities, making it difficult to earn a stable income. By equipping them with chickens, feed, and essential training, GER-SL is enabling them to raise poultry for egg and meat production, helping them generate income while improving their household nutrition. This project particularly benefits women, widows, and unemployed individuals, offering them a sustainable way to support their families.
Through this initiative, GER-SL is empowering communities to become self-reliant, ensuring long-term economic stability and food security while fostering entrepreneurship and self-sufficiency in Kinniya.
