In February 2025, GER-SL successfully organized the Bicycle with Vending Cart Distribution program in Kinniya, a region where many families face economic challenges. This initiative was designed to empower small-scale vendors and struggling entrepreneurs by providing them with bicycles equipped with vending carts, enabling them to start or expand their businesses.
Many individuals in Kinniya rely on daily earnings to support their families, but the lack of mobility and resources limits their opportunities. By distributing vending carts with bicycles, GER-SL has helped these vendors reach more customers, transport goods more efficiently, and increase their income. Beneficiaries included unemployed individuals, widows, single parents, and struggling street vendors who lacked the financial means to invest in a proper setup.
Through this program, GER-SL aims to promote sustainable livelihoods and economic self-sufficiency. The vending carts allow individuals to sell food items, beverages, and essential goods in different locations, giving them flexibility and mobility in their business. This initiative is part of GER-SL’s broader commitment to uplifting underprivileged communities and fostering long-term financial independence.
By providing practical solutions, GER-SL continues to create a positive impact on the lives of the people in Kinniya, ensuring they have the means to build a better future.
